Import / Transit Requirements for Cats and Dogs into Argentina

Age Of Animal

Puppies and kittens have to be 4 months or older. Puppies and kittens have to travel on their own valid rabies vaccination.

Microchip

Required prior to Rabies Vaccination.

Rabies Vaccinations

Rabies vaccination must be at least 30 days old and not older than 1 year prior to departure.

Canine and Feline vaccinations

Annual feline and canine vaccinations has to be older than 30 days and not older than 1 year upon arrival.

Cats:

Kennel cough vaccinations and snuffles vaccinations for cats are recommended, should your pet require boarding before or after they travel all reputable kennels would insist that you produce a valid vaccination certificate.

Health Certificate (Valid for 10 days)

The pets have to be accompanied by a health certificate issued by a private veterinarian certifying compliance with the above requirements and countersigned by the State Vet.

In general this certificate is valid for ten days from the date of issue.

External & internal parasite treatment is required

~ Our clients will be supplied with the correct & filled in Heath Certificate.

Import Permit

Not required.

African Horse Sickness

Dogs and cats that has been within or resident in an 50 kilometre radius area where there has been reported cases of African Horse Sickness and/or Rift Valley Fever diseases for the last three years cannot be exported to Argentina.
